Returning early to your country of residence

If you have to return to your country of residence under Section A (Cancellation & Curtailment) or B (Emergency Medical and Treatment Expenses), the 24 hour medical emergency service must authorise this. If they do not, this could mean that we will not provide cover or we may reduce the amount we pay for your return to your country of residence. The 24 hour medical emergency service reserve the right to repatriate you should our medical advisors view you as being fit to travel, if you refuse to be repatriated then all cover under this policy will cease. The 24 hour medical emergency service may be contacted from anywhere in the world to provide assistance to you.

When you return home – making a claim

If you need to make a claim, please complete and return the relevant claims form below no later than 31 days after the event:

Please include your name, policy number (PNR) and the reason for your claim.

The first thing you should do

We recommend that you check your cover. Please read the appropriate section in the policy to see exactly what is, and is not covered, noting any conditions, limitations and exclusions. Your Insurance Certificate will show what sections are in force.

If bodily injury, illness, loss, theft or damage happens you should immediately:

  1. Call INTANA on +44 0 199 244 4337 to report a medical emergency or request repatriation.
  2. Inform a local Police station in the country where the incident occurred and obtain a crime or lost property irregularity report.
  3. Take all reasonable steps to recover missing property.
  4. Take all reasonable steps to prevent a further incident.

Making a claim

If you need to make a claim, please complete and return the relevant claims form below no later than 28 days after the event:

You or your legal representatives must supply at your own expense all information, evidence, details of household insurance, medical certificates and assistance that may be needed.

You must supply all of your original invoices, receipts and reports etc. We have listed claims evidence that will help you substantiate your claim at the end of the policy wording.

 

What you must not do

1. Abandon any property for us to deal with.

2. Dispose of any damaged items as we may need to see them.

 

We are entitled to take over any rights in the defence or settlement of any claim in your name for our benefit against any other party. We are entitled to take possession of the property insured and deal with any salvage. We may also pursue any claim to recover any amount due from a third party in the name of anyone claiming cover under this policy.

We reserve the right to require you to undergo an independent medical examination at our expense. We may also request and will pay for a post-mortem examination.

We may refuse to reimburse you for any expenses for which you cannot provide receipts or bills.

Issuance of insurance "no show" letters

Customers who don't travel on their booked flight(s) and require an insurance letter confirming this should contact Ryanair. The "no show" letter will then be sent free of charge by email.

What is a pre-existing medical condition?

It is a medical condition which is known to you, which has been suffered or for which medication, advice or treatment has been received within 24 months prior to the date of you purchasing this policy.

If I have or know of a pre-existing medical condition concerning the health of myself, my relatives, travelling companions or anyone else whose ill health would force me to cancel or cut short may trip, can I still buy a travel insurance policy?

Yes, but there will be no cover under the cancellation & curtailment and medical & treatment expenses sections of your policy for any claims relating to the pre-existing medical condition.

How can I submit a claim on my travel insurance?

What do I do if I need medical emergency assistance when I am away?

If you need to see a doctor,  go to the hospital or return home because of an emergency, the Emergency Assistance Team are open 24 hours a day 365 days a year and will assist you with advice and making arrangements.
